The candles are lit, a must on a chilly fall evening. I think we will go through lots of candles this winter, I heard it gets cold up here during the winter.
And the guests arrived. Our great friends who I first met in Alba, Italy last year during the truffle festival. The dinner and our guests, it takes me back to Alba.
The starter wasn't very Italian, but one of my favorite. Seared scallops with a hot mango salsa.
A melt in your mouth tender coeur de filet with wild mushroom risotto. Delicious.
Dixie and Nelly playing games on the phone. Nelly is Dixie's idol. She had been talking all week about that Nelly was coming for dinner. Anders and I heard it over and over again "When Nelly kommer?". And I think it even makes it easier for Dixie to go do daycare because she knows that Nelly's school is right next to Dixie's school.
The dessert. Scrumptious. This is the best. A milk chocolate panna cotta with hazelnut praline made with hazelnut from the Alba region. So fine. A lovely evening and it didn't end after the dessert. It's nice when the evening just goes on and on and people stay on, you can chat, enjoy a nice cognac, an espresso and more wine.
